At Freedom of Expression Gifts, we take pride in creating high-quality handmade products. Your satisfaction matters to us, and this policy explains our approach to returns, refunds, and exchanges.

General Return Policy

Return Window

  • Standard products may be returned within 30 days of delivery
  • Items must be unused, in original condition, and in original packaging
  • Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item is defective or an error occurred on our part

Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned unless defective:

  • Custom or personalized items (laser engraving, custom designs)
  • Opened or used body care products (soaps, lotions, lip balms, candles)
  • Sale or clearance items
  • Gift sets that have been opened or partially used

Returnable Items

The following items may be returned if unused and in original condition:

  • Unopened body care products in original packaging
  • Non-custom laser-cut signs and décor
  • Non-custom cutting boards
  • Other non-custom home décor items

How to Initiate a Return

Step 1: Contact Us

Before returning any item, please contact us and include:

  • Your order number
  • The item(s) you wish to return
  • The reason for the return
  • Photos if the item is damaged or defective

Step 2: Return Authorization

If approved, we will provide a Return Authorization (RA) number, return address, and instructions.

Do not return items without authorization. Unauthorized returns may not be processed.

Step 3: Pack and Ship

  • Pack items securely, using original packaging when possible
  • Include your order number and RA number
  • Use a trackable shipping method
  • Keep your shipping receipt

Damaged or Defective Items

If your item arrives damaged or defective:

  1. Contact us within 7 days of delivery
  2. Provide photos of the damage or defect
  3. Include your order number

For verified issues, we will provide a prepaid return label and offer a replacement or full refund. Claims are typically processed within 2–3 business days.

Refund Process

Refund Timeline

  • Inspection: 2–3 business days after receipt
  • Refund processing: 3–5 business days
  • Credit posting: 5–10 business days (depending on your bank)

Refund Method

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method
  • Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless we made an error

Partial Refunds

Partial refunds may be issued for:

  • Returns after 30 days but within 60 days
  • Items missing original packaging
  • Items showing signs of use (subject to approval)

No Refund Situations

  • Items returned after 60 days
  • Custom or personalized items (unless defective)
  • Opened body care products
  • Items damaged due to misuse
  • Lost or stolen packages (see Shipping Policy)

Exchanges

Eligible items may be exchanged for a different scent, color, or product of equal or lesser value, subject to availability.

If the replacement item costs more, the difference must be paid. If it costs less, a partial refund will be issued.

Custom and Personalized Orders

Custom orders are final sale and cannot be returned unless:

  • We made a production error
  • The item is defective or damaged
  • The item does not match approved design specifications

Customers are responsible for reviewing and approving all design proofs. Minor variations are normal with handmade products.

Body Care Product Returns

For health and safety reasons, opened body care products cannot be returned.

Exceptions may be made if:

  • The product caused an allergic reaction
  • The product is defective or contaminated
  • The product is significantly different from its description

Please review ingredient lists carefully prior to purchase.

Order Errors

Our Errors

If we ship the wrong item or make a fulfillment error, we will cover return shipping and provide a replacement or full refund.

Your Errors

If an incorrect item was ordered, standard return policies apply and return shipping is the customer’s responsibility.

Lost or Damaged Shipments

Please review our Shipping Policy for information regarding lost packages, damaged shipments, and insurance claims.

Restocking Fees

We generally do not charge restocking fees. However, a 20% restocking fee may apply for:

  • Large or heavy items
  • Unauthorized returns
  • Items returned in unsellable condition

Product Variations

Due to the handmade nature of our products, minor variations are normal and not considered defects.

Returns will be accepted if variations are excessive or render the product unusable.

Cancellations

Orders may be canceled prior to processing. Once an order has shipped or a custom order enters production, cancellation is not guaranteed.

Store Credit

Store credit may be offered in place of a refund at our discretion or upon request. Store credit never expires and may be transferred.
